Click and collect lets shoppers buy groceries online and pick them up at a store or locker. Orders are picked in-store or from a dark store, then handed off at a counter, curb, or locker rather than being delivered to the home.
Why it matters
Pickup can raise conversion, protect margin versus last-mile delivery, and use existing store labor and stock. Accuracy and wait time determine whether shoppers return. Poor slotting or missing cold-chain items quickly damages trust.
